9.1.3. Performing an ambulatory monitoring study in NeuroWorks.
Before you begin, note the following:
•
Ambulatory monitoring is only available with NeuroWorks 9.3x and later, using a Natus provided
acquisition tablet computer.
•
During a monitoring session, the Trex HD transmits data wirelessly to the recording tablet via
Bluetooth.
•
Ensure the patient remains within the Bluetooth range of 32 ft (10 m) from the Tablet during the
monitoring session.
•
Initiate ambulatory monitoring only after completing any required protocols such as Channel Test,
Impedance Check and Photic Stimulation.
•
Connect the external battery pack to extend Trex HD battery life to up 72 hrs (recommended).
•
Monitoring sessions consume more battery power. It is recommended that monitoring is
performed only as needed.
•
A backfill option is available to upload the study data recorded up to that point for review.
•
To prepare the Trex HD, insert two new AA batteries (while the Trex HD is disconnected from the
tablet). Next, connect the Trex HD Monitoring headbox to the tablet via USB.
9.1.3.1. Start an ambulatory monitoring study
The Trex HD Monitoring is equipped with a Bluetooth module that communicates with the
NeuroWorks/SleepWorks acquisition tablet computer. When the Trex HD Monitoring is within a 10m (32ft)
range of the acquisition tablet, an ongoing ambulatory study may be monitored. For this workflow, the
equipment is set up and a recording is initiated in the patient home.
