MON-10467 (DC) Connecting Power and Ground
Hardware need:
•
PG16 gland (supplied by NI) or 0.5 in. conduit fitting
•
Power cable with a smooth, round jacket and individual conductors up to 12 AWG that
comply with your local electrical code
Tools needed:
•
#2 Phillips screwdriver
•
27 mm deep socket
•
30 mm socket or wrench
•
24 mm socket or wrench
•
(Optional) 24 mm gland dome nut tightening tool (SEALCON part number S-2400-WR)
Caution
Before connecting the power, turn off the power source.
Caution
Remove power to the MON-10467 (DC) before opening it for service.
Attention

Notice
You must connect the chassis ground to ensure measurement signal
integrity.
Complete the following steps.
1.
Confirm that the power source has been turned off.
2.
Install the gland on the device enclosure.
You may use the gland provided by NI or your own gland. Check the
MON-10467
Specifications
on
for the required gland specifications.
a)
Insert the PG16 gland through the hole on the enclosure.
b)
Install the backing nut on the PG16 gland and tighten the nut with a 30 mm socket or
wrench to a torque of 5 N · m (44.2 lb · in.) while holding the gland body with a
27 mm deep socket.
3.
Terminate any metal external cable braid or armor prior to entering the gland so that it
does not pass through the gland grommet.
4.
Insert the cable through the gland.
The PG16 gland comes with a 5 mm to 9 mm grommet.
5.
Open the V and C spring terminals by inserting a 2.5 mm flat-blade screwdriver and
pressing the lever.
