Replacing the V Belts
1)
Removing the V Belts
a)
Remove the rear covers (L), (R). (
Refer to section 6-7-1
, "Removing the
Rear Covers".)
b)
Remove the four bolts (M8x20) and the four security screws (M8x40),
then remove the beam. S
ee section 6-7-2
, "Names of Under Base
Parts" page 37.)
c)
Loosen the four hex head bolts (M8x20).
d)
Remove the locking nut (M10).
e)
Remove rubber cap A, and remove the tension bolt (M10x60) and
washer.
f)
Push the motor to the right as shown, and remove the two V belts.
2)
Installing the V Belts
a)
Place the two V belts
on the pulleys.
b)
Attach the tension bolt
(M10x60) and washer.
c)
Adjust the tension of
the V belts by
tightening the tension
bolt. The belts should
be adjusted so that
they have about 5-
6mm of slack when the
centre of the belts are
depressed with a force
of 2kg. Tighten the
locking nut (M10).
(The tension in the
belt is 19-21kg.)
d)
Refit the beam, and
tighten the four bolts
(M8x20), and four
security screws
(M8x40).
e)
Replace rubber cap A.
