Troubleshooting
If the engine cannot be started, proceed as follows to find out the cause:
(1)
Check the level of fuel in the fuel tank to see if it is low.
(2)
Check the fuel supply system to see if the fuel is flowing into the carburetor from
the fuel tank.
(3)
Loosen the drain screw of the carburetor to drain off fuel and then screw the drain
screw back in place.
(4)
Push the kick starter lever with the foot several times.
(5)
Loosen the drain screw and then check if there is fuel inside the carburetor.
(6)
If it is confirmed that fuel has reached the carburetor, check the ignition system
next.
(7)
Remove the spark plug and connect it to the high-tension cord.
Fasten the threaded part of the spark plug to the engine housing, turn the ignition
switch to the ON position, push the start button and see if there are blue sparks
generated between the two electrodes. If no sparks appears, call your dealer and book it
in for repair.
CAUTION
Do not allow fuel to run on to the ground, Collect it in a container. Keep fuel away
from the hot engine and exhaust. When performing this test, keep away from fire or
other sources of heat.
Engine lacking power
(1)
Check the fuel supply system.
(2)
Check the ignition timing of the ignition system.
(3)
Check the air filter.
