Tires
Be sure to check the tire pressure and tread depth when performing periodic
maintenance. To ensure maximum safety and durability the tires should not only be
maintained periodically but also checked often.
Tire pressure
Insufficient tire pressure not only increases tire wear but also makes your ride unstable.
A low tire pressure can cause difficulty in making turns whereas a high tire pressure
reduces the contact area of the tires with the ground and can cause loss of control. The
tire pressure must therefore be kept within the specified limit. Only adjust the tire
pressure when the tire is cool.

WARNING
—
The pressure and wear of tires are of vital importance to the vehicle performance
and safety. Nonstandard tire pressures would seriously affect the tire life and make
the ride unsafe. Too high a tire pressure causes the central part of the tire to wear
quickly and makes your ride uncomfortable. Too low a tire pressure causes the two
sides of the tire to wear quickly and, in the serious case, causes the tire to bite into
the wheel rim and break or cause the vehicle to tip over when you are making a
turn.
Tire tread pattern
A vehicle with excessively worn tires is less stable.
Replace the front tire if the tread is worn to below 1.6mm.
Replace the rear tire if the tread is less than 3mm.
Fuse (Pic 11)
—
The fuse tube is located beside the battery. If the fuse blows often, it means there is
a short circuit somewhere in the electric system or the circuit is overloaded. Do not
use a fuse having a capacity other than the recommended one.
