Check the level of brake fluid inside the cylinder. Replenish the cylinder with the
recommended type of fluid if the level is found to be low. The brake fluid level will
drop when the brake pads wear, replenishing the brake fluid cylinder is therefore an
important part of period maintenance.
Brake Pads
Check the brake pads to see if they have worn down to the wear limit mark. Replace
the brake pads if there wear exceeds this limit.
Front brake
The following checks should be made every
day:
(1)
Front brake system, check it for fluid leaks.
(2)
Brake hose, check it for leaks or damage.
(3)
Brake pads, check them for wear.
(4)
Brake lever, check it for correct free play
and strength.
Rear brake
The following checks should be made every day:
(1)
Rear brake system, check it for fluid leaks.
(2)
Brake hose, check it for leaks or damage.
(3)
Brake pads, check them for wear.
(4)
Rear brake lever, check it for correct free play
and strength.
Wear of rear brake
The wear of rear brake varies according to the way the vehicle is used and the road
condition under which the vehicle is used. Generally, the brake lining wears faster
when the vehicle is used on wet and dirty roads than when it is used in good road
conditions.
