17 REMOVING THE STANCHIONS –
SLIDERS (“MARZOCCHI” AND
“ÖHLINS”)
CAUTION The following operations refer to a
single stanchion-slider assembly, but apply to
both of them.
WARNING
Before removing a stanchion-slider assembly,
correctly refit the other stanchion-slider to
vehicle.
• Place the bike on a suitable stand so as to raise the
front wheel from ground;
• Remove brake calipers as described in sub-section
4 of section F, but do not disconnect oil lines;
• Remove front mudguard as described in sub-section
2 section E for V11 Le Mans,V11 Sport , V11 Ballabio
or in sub-section 14 of this section for V11 Rosso
Corsa , V11 Cafe Sport.
• Remove the front wheel as described in sub-section
15 of this section;
• Remove handlebars (V11 Le Mans 2003 , V11 Ros-
so Corsa and V11 Sport 2003, only) as described in
sub-section 13 of section Q
• Loosen screw “A” on steering head;
• Loosen screws “B” on bottom yoke;
• To remove stanchion with slider “C”, pull it downwards
and turn it slightly in one direction and then in the
opposite direction.
