Mains Pilot Lamp not alight.
a) Mains Isolator “
OFF”

b) 5 Amp fuse blown

Replace fuse.
Pilot lamp alight, but start switch
indicator not alight. Oil

Check and replace if necessary

a) Override thermostat has
operated due to failure of control
thermostat
a) Replace control thermostat
and press reset button on
override thermostat.
b) Override thermostat nuisance
tripping at too low a temperature

Mains pilot lamp alight, start
Lamp alight but oil NOT heating
up.
a) Micro-switch not closed
a) Check elements are fully
lowered
b) Faulty micro-switch
b) Check functions of micro-
switch. Replace if necessary

contactors and coil. If coil o/c,
replace. If contactors o/c,
replace complete assembly.
