6.5 Initial commissioning
Operating conditions
n
The operating is only permissible exclusively
within the specified operating limits indicated
on the type plate or in written agreement with
the customer or within the operating limits indi-
cated in the respective system description.
n
Minimum pressure 0.5 MPa. Lower pressures
can lead to a premature failure.
n
Unless otherwise expressly stated, the device
is not suitable for pressure retention without
indicated flow. This can lead to overheating or
destruction of the device.
n
No deformations must form from pressure or
temperature, which
– can decrease the boring or increase the
shaft size or
– cause the lead through - even briefly - to
achieve an over temperature towards the
housing of more than 30 °C.
Filtering
A permanent filtering of the operating media is
required to ensure the fault-free operation.
The required filter unit for all media is 10 μm.
Dry running
Dry running, meaning the rotation of the shaft
without using a transfer medium is not permitted.
Personnel:
n
Specialist staff
1.
Check all screw connections, connections
and safety guards to make sure they are
correctly aligned and firmly in place. Check
continuity of the lines.
2.
Flush the entire plant without rotation.
3.
Cartridge element:
Pressurise the cartridge element with only
1.0 MPa pressure and slowly rotate.
ð
The shaft must be easy and evenly to
rotate, without jerking and clamping
points. If that is not possible, then the
rotary feedthroug element is installed
stuck or damaged. Send the device to
the manufacturer.
WARNING!
Risk of injury from exceeding the usage
limits!
Exceeding the set limits for use of the
can cause injuries and mate-
rial damage.
Unless otherwise expressly stated, the
device is not suitable for pressure reten-
tion without flow. This can cause over-
heating and the destruction of the device.
4.
Increase speed and pressure slowly to the
desired operating values. Adhere to the
limits for usage on the type plate, the order
documents and any enclosed drawings as
necessary.
5.
The leakage amounts and the temperature
of the operating medium and of the rotary
feedthrough must be checked.
7 Maintenance
7.1 Safety instructions
WARNING!
Risk of injury from mechanical move-
ments!
The movements of the system or machine
in which the device is installed can cause
severe injuries.
– Before any work, stop any mechanical
movements and secure against
switching on again.
