Troubleshooting Guide

The boat vibrates at cruising speeds.
• Propellers may be damaged & need repair.
• Propellers or propeller shafts are bent. Repair or replace
damaged components.
• The running gear is fouled by marine growth or rope. Clean
running gear.
• The engines are not trimmed properly. Trim engines
.
ENGINE PROBLEMS
An engine is running too hot.
• The engine raw water pick up strainer is clogged with marine
growth. Clean pick up.
• The engine raw water pump impeller is worn or damaged.
Repair the pump.
• The engine thermostat is faulty and needs to be replaced.
An engine alternator is not charging properly.
• The battery cable is loose or corroded. Clean and tighten
battery cables.
• The alternator is not charging and must be replaced.
• The battery is defective. Replace the battery.
An engine suddenly will not operate at or above cruise
RPM.
• The engine emergency system has been activated. The on
board computer has sensed a problem and has limited the
RPM to protect the engine. Find & correct the problem.
• The tachometer is bad and needs to be replaced.
• A throttle control is not responding properly. Have the
throttle setting checked by a qualified technician.
An engine is loosing RPM. The boat is not overloaded and
the hull bottom and running gear are clean and in good
condition.
• The engine may be having a problem with a sticky Anti-
siphon valve, located in the fuel line near the fuel tank, that
is restricting the fuel flow. Remove & clean or replace the
anti-siphon valve.
• The remote gasoline fuel filter could be dirty. Inspect and
replace the fuel filter.
• The primary fuel filter on the engine may be dirty. Inspect
and replace the fuel filter.
• The electronic engine control system on the engine is mal
-
functioning. Repair the engine control system.
• The fuel injection system on the engine is malfunctioning .
Repair the fuel injection system.
An engine runs too cold.
• The thermostat is faulty. Replace thermostat.
• The temperature gauge is not reading properly. Replace the
temperature gauge or sender.
