Exterior Equipment
An ON/OFF key switch in the battery switch panel
activates the circuit for the switches that raise and
lower the tower. This switch is a safety feature to
prevents accidental activation of the switches. The
key should always be removed unless raising or
lowering the tower.
To lower the tower, the forward connector, side cur-
tains and aft curtain must be removed. Make sure
the house battery switch is on, then press and hold
the bottom of the switch until the tower is in the full
down position and the actuators stop. To raise the
tower, press and hold the top of the switch until the
tower is in the full up position and the actuators stop.
Towers equipped with a ski tow are designed for
pulling one average sized skier or wakeboarder.
You should never tow more than one skier or wake-
boarder from the any tower or arch. Towing more
than one skier will put too much strain on the fab-
rication and could cause damage to the tower and
deck. Refer to the Transom Ski Tow section in this
chapter for more information on using the tower or
transom ski tow fitting.
The warranty for the tower will be void if it is modi-
fied in any way or overloaded by towing too many
skiers or wakeboarders. Additionally, if items like
antennas, spotlights and other accessories are
mounted improperly or in the wrong location, the
warranty could be void. If you intend to add equip-
ment or make modifications to the tower, you should
contact your dealer or Monterey Customer Service
to make sure the equipment you would like to add
or the intended modification will not void the war
-
ranty on the tower.
Tower Top and Enclosure
The canvas for Monterey boats is custom fit to
each boat. The top is designed with a relatively
flat profile and a snug fit. The canvas is fit to the
boat at the factory and must be installed properly
in order for the optional clear connector and side
curtains to fit.

NOTICE:
The following instructions are general and
the procedure for installing the canvas on
your boat may vary slightly from those de-
scribed in this section. Contact your dealer
for specific instructions to install the canvas
on your boat.
Tower Enclosure Curtains
Close the center section of the windshield and at-
tach the front connector to the zipper at the front
of the top. Then snap it to the top of the windshield
frame beginning with the center snaps. The front
connector will have to be stretched just enough
to pull out the wrinkles and reach the snaps on
the windshield.
