Bow Shade
Your boat may be equipped with an optional bow
shade system that includes a canvas shade, four
carbon fiber/fiberglass poles and a canvas stor
-
age bag. The shade zips into the forward edge of
the standard Bimini top or optional electric tower
canvas (pictured).
To install the shade, attach the zipper at the rear
of the shade to the zipper on the forward valence
on the top. Once the shade is zipped in place,
install the four poles in the deck sockets. The
pole sockets and poles are angled outward at 45
degrees to provide tension and keep the canvas
taut when it is deployed. Clip the top of each pole
into the stainless steel loops sewn into the forward
and side corners of the shade.
The bow shade is not designed to be used in high
winds or when the boat is operated above idle
speed. It is meant to be used only while the boat
is at anchor or sitting at the dock. The bow shade
and poles should always be removed and stowed
in the canvas storage bag before getting underway
or when wind speed exceeds 10 to 15 MPH.
CAUTION
THE BOW SHADE WILL BE DAMAGED IF IT IS EXPOSED TO
HIGH WINDS OR BOAT CRUISING SPEEDS. ONLY USE THE
BOW SHADE WHILE AT ANCHOR OR AT THE DOCK WITH
LIGHT WINDS. ALWAYS REMOVE AND STOW THE SHADE
BEFORE OPERATING THE BOAT OR WHENEVER WIND
SPEED EXCEEDS 10 TO 15 MPH.
10.8 Aftermarket Tower or Arch
Monterey does not recommend installing an after
market wakeboard tower, hardtop or arch. An
improperly designed or installed fabrication can
cause structural damage to the deck and void
the Monterey Limited Warranty. Additionally,
Monterey will not be responsible for any damage
resulting from the installation of a fabrication not
installed at the Monterey factory. If you intend
to install an aftermarket hardtop or arch on your
boat, please contact your authorized Monterey
dealer.
Refer to the Routine Maintenance section for more
information on maintaining aluminum fabrications
and precautions for adding additional equipment
and fasteners.
