Chassis Number to Game ID Mapping Procedure
The following procedure covers the simplest Docking Station System: one Host Computer connected to
one Docking Station. The mapping procedure can also be performed with a multiple docking station
system.
NOTE
For the Docking Station System to create a useful database,
this procedure MUST be performed before operating the games.
1. Prepare the Smart Cassette Stackers for the mapping procedure.
a. Prepare the Game ID labels to be attached to all Smart Chassis equipped games.
NOTE
The acceptors must be installed in the chassis. When energized,
the acceptor reads the chassis number and downloads it to the cassette memory.
b. Power-up each game and install a Smart Cassette Stacker in each of the Smart Chassis.
The acceptors read the Smart Chassis Serial Number and download it to each Smart
Cassette Stacker memory.
c. Place the appropriate game number label on each smart cassette.
d. Remove all cassette stackers and take them to the Docking Station room.
2. Start the mapping program MAP.EXE on the Docking Station System Host Computer.
3. While the host system is running the MAP.EXE program, insert a cassette into the docking station.
4. When the system requests a Game ID, enter the Game ID as written on the label attached to the
Cassette.
- Do not enter blank spaces. If necessary, use the dash or underline character to indicate
blank spaces.
- After entering the Game ID, press the Enter key. The monitor displays a message
specifying the cassette and game numbers entered into the map file.
- Check that the numbers entered into the map file are correctly matched and typed. If a
mistake or typo has been entered into the file, it can be corrected later.
- Make a note of the correction(s) and make all changes to the map file (SMCAS.MAP)
after completing Mapping Procedure.
5. After entering the game number wait for the red indicator to light. Check the station display
window and verify that the game number in the window matches that on the label and in the
monitor message.
6. Remove the cassette stacker from the docking station and remove the label from the cassette.
7. Repeat this procedure for each Cassette Stacker brought to the Docking Station room.
8. When all the Chassis Numbers have been mapped to their associated Game ID in the
SMCAS.BLD file (directory C:\ardac\MAP\), exit the MAP.EXE program.
9. Run the Excel macro MAP.XLS to create the SMCAS.MAP file in directory C:\Ardac\MAP\.
10. After creating this file back it up on a floppy or other secure medium.
