Replacement of Microprocessor EPROM
The Money Controls EPROM (57x752) installed in the Docking Station’s Microprocessor board before
shipment from the factory, has the latest version of the system firmware installed. If Money Controls
upgrades the firmware, it may be necessary to replace the EPROM. When replacing the EPROM, observe
the following precautions:
- Make sure all power is disconnected from the Docking Station..
- Access the Microprocessor Board by removing the Guide Rails.
1. Refer to Figure B-2. DO NOT remove the slotted screw.
2. Remove the three hex head screws that attach the guide rails to the station base.
3. Carefully lift the Guide Rails from the station base. Do not damage the ground wire
attached to the Guide Rails.
- Use appropriate tools for removal and replacement of the EPROM.
- Position the new EPROM in the socket as shown in Figure B-3. Make sure the notch matches the
silk screen on the board.
- Being careful to prevent bending of- and damage to- the EPROM pins, press the EPROM into its
socket until it seats firmly.
- Re-install the Guide Rails onto the station base.
