gen Lautsprechern zum Hörplatz kann es erfor-
derlich sein, den Subwoofer umzupolen, d. h.
die Plus- und Minusanschlüsse zu vertauschen.
Den Tiefpaß mit dem Schalter (10) aktivie-
ren (Position IN), und mit dem Regler LP 3•4
(5) die Trennfrequenz einstellen – siehe
Kapitel 7.1.
6.3.3 2-Kanalbetrieb (Abb. 5)
Den Schalter BRIDGE (9) ganz nach links in
die Position „2“ stellen. Die Kanäle 1 und 2
sowie die Kanäle 3 und 4 arbeiten jetzt im
Brückenbetrieb. Die Impedanz der ange-
schlossenen Lautsprecher (-gruppe) muß
deshalb mindestens 4
Ω
betragen. Für den
Anschluß die Beschriftung BRIDGE be-
achten:

Werden über die Endstufe zwei Baßlaut-
sprecher betrieben, den Tiefpaß mit dem
Schalter (10) aktivieren (Position IN) und die
Trennfrequenz einstellen – siehe Kapitel 7.1.
7 Inbetriebnahme
Vor dem Einschalten sollte die komplette
Verdrahtung der Car-HiFi-Endstufe noch
einmal auf Richtigkeit überprüft werden.
Erst danach die Minusklemme der Auto-
batterie wieder anschließen.
7.1 Trennfrequenzen einstellen
Je nach Betriebsmodus läßt sich für Satelli-
tenlautsprecher bzw. Mittel-/Hochtöner ein
Hochpaß und für Baßlautsprecher bzw. für
einen Subwoofer ein Tiefpaß dazuschalten:

Für Vollbereichslautsprecher wird kein Fil-
ter benötigt. Den Schalter für den Hochpaß
(8) und ggf. den Schalter für den Tiefpaß
(10) in die Position OUT stellen.
Für Baßlautsprecher bzw. für einen Sub-
woofer den Schalter LP FILTER (10) in die
Position IN stellen. Mit dem Regler LP 3•4 (5)
die Trennfrequenz im Bereich 30 – 350 Hz
einstellen (je niedriger die obere Grenzfre-
quenz, desto schwerer die akustische Ortung
eines Subwoofers; je höher die Grenzfre-
quenz, desto stärker die Baßunterstützung).
Zur Orientierung die technischen Daten der
eingesetzen Lautsprecher beachten.
Für Satellitenlautsprecher bzw. Mittel-/
Hochtöner an den Kanälen 1 und 2 den
Schalter HP FILTER (8) in die Position IN stel-
len. Mit dem Regler HP 1•2 (3) die Trennfre-
quenz im Bereich 30 – 350 Hz einstellen. Es
sollte ca. der gleiche Wert wie für die Baßlaut-
sprecher bzw. wie für den Subwoofer einge-
stellt werden. Bei einer zu hohen Trennfre-
quenz kommt es sonst in einem bestimmten
Frequenzbereich zu einem Pegeleinbruch
bzw. bei einer zu niedrigen Trennfrequenz im
Bereich der Überschneidung von Baßlaut-
sprecher bzw. Subwoofer und Satellitenlaut-
sprechern zu einer Pegelüberhöhung. In bei-
den Fällen entsteht eine Klangverfärbung.
7.2 Pegel einstellen
Tip: Um Störeinstrahlungen durch die Auto-
elektrik so gering wie möglich zu hal-
ten, sollte der Ausgangspegel der Si-
gnalquelle min. 1,5 V betragen.
1) Die beiden Regler INPUT LEVEL (2 und
6) entgegen dem Uhrzeigersinn auf Mini-
mum stellen.
2) Die Signalquelle, z. B. das Autoradio, auf
maximale, nicht verzerrende Lautstärke
einstellen (z. B.

vom Maximum).
3) Die beiden Regler INPUT LEVEL so weit
aufdrehen, daß in den entsprechenden
Kanälen gerade keine Verzerrungen auf-
treten [bei 2-Kanal-Betrieb nur den rech-
ten Regler (6) aufdrehen].
Beim Einsatz eines Subwoofers oder
beim Betrieb als aktive 2-Wege-Endstufe
eine natürliche oder eine bewußt ver-
stärkte Baßwiedergabe einstellen. Ist der
Baßkanal zu leise, die Kanäle für die
Satelliten- bzw. Vollbereichslautsprecher
im Pegel reduzieren. Bei einem zu kräfti-
gen Baß den Pegel des Subwooferkanals
bzw. der Baßkanäle verringern.
4) Wird die Endstufe zur Erweiterung der
vorhandenen Car-HiFi-Anlage einge-
setzt, zur Anpassung der Lautstärke aller
Kanäle untereinander jeweils die zu lauten

If two bass speakers are operated via the
booster, activate the low pass with the switch
(10) (position IN) and adjust the crossover
frequency – see chapter 7.1.

Setting into Operation
Prior to switching on, the complete wiring
of the car HiFi booster should be checked
once again for correct connection. Only
then connect the negative terminal of the
car battery again.
7.1 Adjusting the crossover
frequencies
According to the operating mode a high
pass can additionally be switched for satel-
lite speakers or mid/high range speakers,
and a low pass for bass speakers or for a
subwoofer:

For full range speakers no filter is neces-
sary. Set the switch for the high pass (8)
and, if necessary, the switch for the low pass
(10) to position OUT.
For bass speakers or for a subwoofer set
the switch LP FILTER (10) to the position IN.
With the control LP 3•4 (5) adjust the cross-
over frequency in the range 30 – 350 Hz (the
lower the upper limit frequency, the more dif-
ficult the acoustic location of a subwoofer;
the higher the limit frequency, the more
powerful the bass support). As a guidance
observe the specifications of the speakers
used.
For satellite speakers or mid/high range
speakers on the channels 1 and 2 set the
switch HP FILTER (8) to the position IN.
With the control HP 1•2 (3) adjust the cross-
over frequency in the range 30 – 350 Hz.
Approx. the same value as for the bass
speakers or the subwoofer should be ad-
justed. Otherwise, if the crossover fre-
quency is too high, the level will fall in a cer-
tain frequency range, or if the crossover fre-
quency is too low, the level will rise too much
in the overlapping range of subwoofer and
satellite speakers. In both cases there will
be a sound discolouration.
7.2 Level matching
Hint: To keep the interfering radiation by
the electric system of the car as low
as possible, the output level of the
signal source should be min. 1.5 V.
1) Set the two controls INPUT LEVEL (2
and 6) counter-clockwise to minimum.
2) Adjust the signal source, e. g. the car
radio, to the max. volume which is not
distorted (e. g.

/

of the maximum).
3) Turn up the two controls INPUT LEVEL so
that just no distortions occur in the corre-
sponding channels [with 2-channel oper-
ation only turn up the right control (6)].
When using a subwoofer or when
operating as an active 2-way booster,
adjust a natural or a deliberately ampli-
fied bass reproduction. If the volume of
the bass channel is too low, reduce the
levels of the channels for the satellite
speakers or full range speakers. If the
bass is too powerful, reduce the level of
the subwoofer channel or the bass chan-
nels.
4) If the booster is used for the extension of
the existing car HiFi system, reduce the
levels of the channels which are too high
to match the volumes of all channels with
each other. (In case the total volume
should not reach the desired level, insert
more powerful boosters into the channels
which are too poor.)
