Setting Slave Address and
Slave Parameters

Specifying slave
parameters in the
permanent
configuration
Specify the required start-up parameters in the
offline topology configurator in the parameter dialog
for the respective slave. Recompile the program with
the new configuration and transfer it to the PLC.
Each time a configuration is transferred to the PLC
from Sucosoft or following system power-up, the
permanent slave parameters are transferred from the
PLC to the ASi master automatically, which then
reconfigures the slaves accordingly. By default, all
four slave parameters are set to 1.
Checking or changing
slave parameters
during system setup
With the PLC is in HALT mode, slave parameters can
be changed temporarily in the ASi Slave Status
window of the online topology configurator in order
to set or test slave settings (see Figure 30 on
page 83).
The temporary parameter settings are overwritten by
the permanent slave parameters each time a
configuration is transferred to the PLC from Sucosoft
or following system power-up. They can also be
overwritten by the PLC application through the
ASi_PARAM function block with the PLC in RUN
mode.
If you want to make the temporary parameter
changes permanent, store the actual configuration in
the Sucosoft project using the online topology
configurator (see “Teaching method“ on page 54).
The new stored configuration must then be
recompiled with the program and transferred to the
PLC. It is transferred from the PLC to the ASi master
automatically, which reconfigures the slaves
accordingly.
See “Changing the slave address with the PLC in
HALT mode“ on page 46 for more information on
changing slave parameters during system setup.
