3.4.10 The Audio Processing panel
3.4.10.1 Shuffling tab
The audio program inputs to the IRD-3811 are placed into
the four AES channels embedded in the IRD-3811 ASI
output. The placement depends on the setting made in the
Decoder Operation pulldown in the Audio Config panel,
Config tab.
Decode mode:
If the input audio programs have passed through the
decoder:
the decoded outputs from Audio 1 (5.1 program which
is decoded to six discrete channels), are grouped into
three pairs of two channels (Left/Right; Center/LFE,
and Ls/Rs) and each pair is assigned to one AES.
The decoded outputs from Audio 2 (stereo program)
are grouped as a pair (Left/Right) which is assigned to
one AES
Pass-Through Mode:
If the decoder has been bypassed (Decoder Operation
pulldown set to
Pass-Through
in the Audio Configuration
panel) for either of the programs:
The non-decoded audio (AC3) will be inserted into one of the output AES channels
Only the AC3 element is available in this case; the decoded program element pairs shown in the figure do not
exist
The default assignment is as shown in figure 3.18.
Click the radio buttons to change the assignment
A program element pair or AC3 program can be
assigned to more than one AES if desired.
3.4.10.2 Levels tab
The levels of the six decoded channels in Audio 1, and the
two decoded channels in Audio 2, can be adjusted using the
sliders in this panel. Alternatively, values can be typed
directly into the data boxes.
•
These controls are not available when the
Pass-
Through
mode is selected in the Decoder Operation
pulldown in the Audio Config – Config tab.
Select the
Locked
checkboxes to tie the indicated pairs of
channels together.
•
Either slider will adjust both channels together.
•
Any offset between them when the
Locked
checkbox
is selected will remain in effect.
