The Joystick Use
Check the function of the joystick every six months. If you find the function has
changed please contact Miracle Mobility.
The joystick is designed with sensitive electronics. Banging the
joystick or hitting the joystick when folding can adversely affect the
joystick function.
When the wheelchair is stopped, even for a short period time, please ensure that the
power is off. This can prevent accidental hitting of the joystick causing an unexpected
movement. This can also limit unexpected electromagnetic interference, which will
influence the normal use of your electric wheelchair.
➢
Take some time in a safe and controlled environment to learn the operation of
your joystick controller. Become familiar with the speed and maneuverability of
the wheelchair.
➢
When turning, reduce your speed, which will help you avoid any potential tilting or
tipping of the wheelchair.
➢
Be sure to adjust the speed depending on your environment.
➢
To stop, just bring the joystick back to the center neutral position and the chair will
come to a stop.
➢
Use extra care when driving in reverse. Be careful to not lose control or tip if one
of the rear wheels hits an object.
➢
Operate the wheelchair slowly and at an even speed.
