When you are ready to seat yourself on the electric wheelchair,
you must turn off the power supply. Otherwise, when you
touch the joystick, it can result in an unexpected movement of
the chair causing an injury. Ensure that the motor wheels are
locked and the wheelchair won't move on its own. (photo 3)
➢
It is recommended that you move your electric wheelchair as close as possible to the
place where you can seat yourself safely.
➢
Ensure your feet are not caught between the foot pad and the wheelchair.
➢
Ensure that the armrest and the footrest will not negatively influence getting up and
down from the wheelchair
➢
You should sit down quickly, which will reduce the risk of falling.
Operating Safely
The user needs to be careful when moving onto and off of the electric
wheelchair. It is recommended that you get on and get off of the wheelchair
from the side. (see photo 1)
The user should also avoid getting on and getting off of the wheelchair from the
front and standing on the footrest as this can cause the wheelchair to tip and
the user to fall. (see photo 2)
