Electromagnetic Interference
Electromagnetic interference may impact the function of the electric wheelchair. There can be
interference caused by outside sources of electromagnetic waves. Please take the below
corresponding protective measures to avoid or minimize any risk.
The electric wheelchair is susceptible to electromagnetic interference. Electromagnetic energy is usually emitted
from radio, television, radio transmitters, two-way radios, and mobile devices. This electromagnetic interference
may cause the brakes to malfunction or the chair to move on it’s own.
The Freedom Gold D20 has been safety tested to the 20V/M electromagnetic interference safety standard. The
Freedom Gold D20 has a high anti-interference resistance. It can resist most common radiation electromagnetic
interference found in everyday use.
Although the Freedom Gold D20 electric wheelchair is equipped with anti-interference technology, the owner should still follow
the below precautions:

When the power supply is connected, do not operate a radio transmitter, a receiver, or citizens band (CB) radio.
➢
It would be recommended to not use a personal communication devices such as mobile phone while operating the
wheelchair.
➢
If possible avoid approaching too closely to a radio source, such as radio or television.
➢
In the event of an uncontrolled movement or stoppage of the wheelchair, the user should turn off the power supply
immediately to reset the chair. Wait 5-10 minutes then power on again making sure your are away from any radio device.
➢
Do not change any parts of this electric wheelchair as this may reduce the anti-jamming capability.
