Function

• Allows the Tech. Rep. to run paper passage and other tests.

<Procedure>
1. Press the 1Key as necessary until “F” appears on the display.
2. Press the Start key to let the copier start the sequence.

<Exiting the Mode>
• Press the Clear/Stop key.

<Paper Passage Test>

Checks for correct paper passage.
<Procedure>
1. Select the paper source before entering the Tech. Rep. mode 

(when the copier is equipped with a Paper Feed Unit).

2. Press the Start key to let the copier start the paper passage 

sequence.

3. Press the Clear/Stop key to stop the sequence.

<Scanner Test>

Checks to see if the Exposure Lamp turns ON properly and the Scan-
ner operates correctly.
<Procedure>
1. Press the Start key. This turns ON the Exposure Lamp and lets 

the Scanner make a scan motion.

2. Press the Clear/Stop key to stop the operation.

<Original Passage Test>

Checks the Automatic Document Feeder for correct document pas-
sage.
<Procedure>
1. Place paper on the Document Feed Tray.
2. Press the Start key to let the Automatic Document Feeder start 

the document take-up and feeding sequence.

<Scanner & Paper Passage Test>

Checks to see if the Scanner operates properly and paper is fed 
through the copier correctly.
<Procedure>
1. Place the original on the Original Glass.
2. Press the Start key. This turns ON the Exposure Lamp and lets 

the Scanner make a scan motion.

3. A copy is produced.
4. Press the Clear/Stop key to stop the operation.

<Test Pattern 1>

Produces a test pattern for adjusting the Paper Tray for correct align-
ment and registration in the main scanning and sub-scanning direc-
tions.

<Test Pattern 2>

Produces a halftone pattern.
