Exhaust Stacks
Parts) bamboo skewer, posterboard exhaust stacks
Warning: you may want to paint your plane before starting this step!
Glue the exhaust stacks onto the sides of the nose, as symmetrically as possible. (You may refer
to pictures of the real p-51 to figure out the desired location.)
Using the sharp tip of a bamboo skewer, pierce through each hole on the stacks into the
foamboard. Do this at a 45-degree swept-back angle as pictured above.
Reserve the forward-most hole for the skewer that will secure the swappable powerpod!
Repeat the same motion with the blunt end, to widen each hole all the way through. As you do
this, cut the skewer, leaving about a quarter to 3/8 of an inch jutting out of the posterboard.
If any of the skewer bits are loose, remove them and reinsert with glue.
