3.9
Updating Generator Firmware:
3.9.1
All SSG units are shipped with
the latest available firmware and an update is usually not
required. Mini-Circuits occasionally makes firmware update files available as a courtesy to add additional
features or correct known issues. Please contact
for details.
3.9.2
Once the SSG GUI
i
s installed and started (see chapter 2) you will note an
(fw)
indicator the
main screen, above the serial number. Clicking on it will open the firmware information window.

3.9.3
In order to update your generator firmware
you need to copy the firmware .hex file to
your computer, without changing the name.
The firmware update process has the potential to render the device inoperable in the event of
communication failure. Updates should only be carried out with a stable PC and USB
connection, and in-line with Mini-Circuits guidelines.
3.9.4
Click on the (fw) button;
this will cause the Firmware - Info window to open (see
).
The ‘Firmware’ listed is the version of the firmware installed in your generator. To change firmware revision
click on “Update Firmware”, or click ‘Exit’ to close the Firmware – Info window.
