2.2 General safety information
To ensure the safe operation of this appliance, the following safety information must be observed:
Only use on flat, dry, heat-resistant surfaces.
To protect against fire, electric shock and injury to persons, do not immerse the cable,
plug or the appliance in water or other liquids. Refer to the cleaning instructions.
Do not leave the machine unattended near children when it is in operation.
If the cable or plug is damaged, do not operate the appliance.
Do not place the cable on a hot surface or wrap it around the unit or other objects.
Do not place the appliance on or near hot gas or electric cookers or put it in a heated oven.
Only use the appliance for its intended purpose.
Do not cover or touch the steam valve or the casing during cooking. Caution: Risk of burns!
Never pull on the cable, only on the plug.
Be careful when opening the lid during or after cooking. Hot steam can escape and lead to scalding.
To avoid damage or deformation, do not use the cooking trays on a hotplate or open flame.
Make sure that the outside of the inner pot is dry before use, otherwise there is a risk of damage.
To switch off the appliance, press the on/off button and then remove the plug from both the mains
supply and the appliance.
Do not use for deep-frying.
To avoid burns, do not carry the appliance by the lid handle during and after cooking.
Warning:
Spilled cooked food can cause severe burns. Keep the appliance and cables away from children.
2.3 Sources of danger
2.3.1 Risk of burns
The food being cooked, the cookware used and the surface of the appliance can become very hot.
You should therefore protect yourself from burns.
Do not touch hot cooking surfaces. During operation the appliance becomes hot.
Keep children away from the appliance when it is in operation.
Allow the machine to cool down briefly before transporting it.
2.3.2 Fire hazard
Improper use of the appliance is a fire hazard.
Never use the appliance to deep-fry.
In case of fire, switch off the appliance, remove the plug from the socket and try to extinguish
the flames. Under no circumstances should water be used to put out the fire.
2.3.3 Risk of electric shock
Avoid contact with live cables and components. Mortal danger!
If the unit shows signs of damage (cracks etc.), disconnect the unit from the power supply.
Do not operate the unit and contact customer service.
If the connecting cable or the mains plug is damaged, do not operate the unit under any
circumstances. Defective connecting cables or plugs must be replaced by qualified personnel
authorised by the manufacturer.
If the unit has been damaged in any way (broken, dropped etc.) or if it does not work properly,
do not operate the unit. In the event of a warranty claim, contact the customer service department.
The unit may only be opened and repaired by authorised qualified personnel. Touching voltage-
carrying parts can cause electric shock.
Do not touch the mains plug and the machine with wet or damp hands.
Never insert objects into openings in the unit. There is a risk of electric shock, if voltage-carrying
parts are touched.
Do not immerse the unit in water or other liquids.
