As soon as the programme finishes,
partially open the door of the ma-
chine (by about 10 cm) for 10 to 15
mins. before unloading the ma-
chine. The residual heat in the ma-
chine will help achieve a good drying
result and prevent instruments cor-
roding (applies to machines without
drying unit only).
^
Adding neutralising agent to the in-
terim rinse stage of some
programmes, helps prevent discol-
ouration and rust spots appearing on
the items being cleaned, especially
at the joints. If this measure is insuffi-
cient, contact your Miele dealer or
the Miele Professional department for
advice.
^
Rigid endoscopes must be disman-
tled according to manufacturer’s in-
structions. Caps and seals must be
removed and taps opened so that
they can be flushed through cor-
rectly. Endoscopes up to 50 cm total
length can be prepared in this ma-
chine e.g. in the O 176 upper basket.
Fibre optics and light cables must
only be processed in this machine if
the manufacturer has stated that they
are suitable for thermal processing.
They should be processed according
to manufacturer’s instructions using
the varioTD NR programme with the
final rinse in fully demineralised wa-
ter.

ENT: The thin chome plating on ear
funnels can be very sensitive to neu-
tralising agents.
Important:
Make sure that the water connection
spring adapter engages correctly when
a basket or injector unit is inserted in
the machine. It must be 4-5 mm higher
than the water connection inlet in the
machine.
If it is not:
^
Loosen the lock ring.
^
Push up the adapter (4-5 mm higher
than the water connection inlet in the
machine) and tighten up the lock
ring.
Select baskets and inserts which are
appropriate for the application.
See examples on the following pages
Important
When using the O 177 and O 190
