Manufacturing Test

The RTG4 Development Kit contains a manufacturing test program that can be run to verify board
functionality. The program contains a list of options that can be run as diagnostics. After setting up the
TeraTerm and powering up the board, the test options are displayed. Any test option can be selected to
verify board functionality. For more information, refer to

Figure 28,

page 47.

Before testing the RTG4 Development Kit:

•

Download the RTG4_DEV_KIT_MTD.stp file from

http://soc.microsemi.com/portal/default.aspx?r=17&p=f=RTG4_DEV_KIT_MTD

.

•

Download and install the FTD drivers from

http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/D2XX.htm

.

8.1

Software Installation

The RTG4 Development Kit has an on-board embedded FlashPro5 (FP5) programmer supported the by
FlashPro version 11.5 or later. An external programmer is not required.

The following are the system requirements for FlashPro:

•

Windows 7 Professional or later 64-bit operating system

•

500 MB disk space

Download and install FlashPro version 11.5, available at

http://soc.microsemi.com/download/reg/download.aspx?p=f%3dFlashProv11_5

. Then, connect one end

of the USB cable (mini USB to Type A USB cable) to J47, and connect the other end to the USB port. If
the cable is already connected, unplug the cable and connect it again. Once the USB cable is connected,
the PC will detect the on-board embedded FP5 and install the drivers.

Note:

Installing drivers is a one-time process.
