SerDes Loopback Test

To run the SerDes loopback test, connect J49 to J50 and J58 to J59 using an SMA-to-SMA cable
supporting a data rate of 2.5 Gbps.

8.4

Power Supply and Programming

The following steps describe how to test and validate the power supply to the board:

Connect the 12V/5 Amps power supply brick to the J9 jumper.

Switch ON the SW6 power supply switch.

Note:

Ensure that the following power status LEDs are ON: DS1, DS2, DS3, DS8, DS9, DS10, DS11, DS12,
DS13, DS14, DS15, DS16, DS17, and DS18.

The FPGA on the RTG4 Development Board is programmed using either of the following ways:

•

Using embedded FlashPro5 (FTDI JTAG programming), without an external programmer

•

Using an external FlashPro4 programmer that can be connected to the

J22

jumper on the board

The following steps describe how the FlashPro v11.5 in the RTG4 launch software must be installed in
the host PC to program the device using embedded FlashPro5.

Connect the following jumpers on the RTG4 Development Board:
•

Short J32 (PROG-SEL-JUMPER) to pin 1-2

•

Short J27 (JTAG/SPI SEL) to pin 1-2
