Pilasters
Pilasters are easily formed using
panels and inside corners.
The pilaster face panel can be
supported with either bulkhead
brackets (Fig. 36.1 and 36.2)
or steel rails (Fig. 36.3). In both
cases hardwood blocking must be
installed between the panel frame
and the bulkhead bracket or rail at
the face of each inside corner.
Pilasters more than 12" deep can
be formed with additional panels
and ties (Fig. 36.4). Either of the
methods above can also be used
to form the pilaster face.
