12. 4 DS3 ATM Set-up
The configuration of the DS3 port ATM characteristics is set using the path

DS3 PORT
The menu is used to select the PVC that is to be used for the circuit emulation (CBR) traffic.

12 . 4. 1 VPI
This item specifies the Virtual Path to be used for circuit emulation traffic. VPI values
between 0 and 255 can be selected.
12 . 4. 2 VCI
This item specifies the Virtual Channel to be used for circuit emulation traffic. VCI values
between 0 and 65535 can be selected.
Notes:
a) If VPI=0 and VCI=0, then the traffic generated cannot be distinguished from idle cells and
will be discarded.
b) The following fields of the ATM cell header for the PVC selected for the circuit emulation
traffic are all zero:
GFC - Generic Flow Control
PT - Payload Type
CLP - Cell Loss Priority
