Note that both braking effect and tire grip can
be reduced drastically in wet conditions. Look
well ahead when riding on wet roads and go
well below the speed you would ride at in dry condi-
tions.

A lack of practice when using clipless pedals
or too much spring tension in the mecha-
nism can lead to a very firm connection, from
which you cannot quickly step out! Risk of an accident!

In case you had a crash with your MERIDA
bike, perform at least the check described in
the chapter “Before every ride“. Ride back
very carefully by taking the shortest route possible,
even if your MERIDA bike went through this check
without any problems. Do not accelerate or brake hard
and do not ride your bike out of the saddle. If you are in
doubt, have yourself picked up by car, instead of taking
any risk. Back home you need to check your MERIDA
bike thoroughly once again. If you are in doubt or if you
have any questions, contact your MERIDA dealer!

2. The rechargeable battery of your MERIDA pedelec
must be charged before you set off for the first time

. Are you familiar with the handling and mount-
ing of the rechargeable battery? Before you set off
for the first time, check whether the battery is prop-
erly mounted, that it has engaged audibly and that it
is locked.
