IMPORTANT: Do not overfill engine oil.
NOTE: If the engine is not operated for a period of time (several days or
longer), a certain amount of oil may drain from the reservoir back into the
engine oil pan. When the engine is started this oil will be pumped back into
the reservoir.
CHECKING DRIVE UNIT OIL

CAUTION
Avoid damage to the sterndrive. The input shaft housing must be filled
with lubricant on driveline models.
IMPORTANT: If more than 59 ml (2 fl oz) of gear lube is required, a seal
may be leaking. Damage to drive unit may occur due to lack of lubrication.
Contact your authorized Mercury Marine dealer for service.
Fill dry sump drive and transom input shaft housing with TORCO MTF Gear
Oil.
NOTE: Oil level will fluctuate during operation. Check the oil level with a
cold engine before starting.
