The brake system red warning lamp lights up while the engine is on.
Possible causes:

R

The brake force boosting is malfunctioning.

R

The EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution) is malfunctioning.

R

There is not enough brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir.

&

WARNING There is a risk of an accident if brake force boosting

is malfunctioning

If brake force boosting is malfunctioning, increased brake pedal

force may be necessary for braking. Braking characteristics may be

impaired. The braking distance may increase in an emergency brak‐

ing situation.

Pull over and stop the vehicle safely as soon as possible, pay‐

ing attention to road and traffic conditions. Do not continue

driving under any circumstances.

#

Consult a qualified specialist workshop.

WARNING Risk of an accident if the EBD (electronic brake

force distribution) malfunctions

If the EBD malfunctions, the wheels may lock during braking.
The braking characteristics may be impaired.
The braking distance can increase in emergency situations.
