System limits
The system limits for Parking Assist
PARKTRONIC apply to passive side impact pro‐
tection.
The following objects are not detected, for exam‐
ple:

Pedestrians who approach the vehicle from
the side
R
Objects placed next to the vehicle
Activating/deactivating Parking Assist

NOTE Risk of an accident from objects
at close range
Parking Assist PARKTRONIC may not detect
certain objects at close range.

When parking or maneuvering the vehi‐
cle, pay particular attention to any
objects which are above or below the
sensors, e.g. flower pots or drawbars.
The vehicle or other objects could oth‐
erwise be damaged.
Requirements:

The camera menu is open.
R
Or: Active Parking Assist is active.
R
Or: the PARKTRONIC pop-up window
appears.

Make sure that there are no persons, ani‐
mals or objects in the maneuvering area
while maneuvering and parking in/exiting
parking spaces.

symbol is shown in the multifunc‐
tion display, Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is
not active. Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is
automatically activated when the vehicle is
started.
Alternatively, Parking Assist PARKTRONIC can be
activated or deactivated in the quick access
menu.
