TE Starter battery damage due to leav-
ing the vehicle standing idle for extended
periods of time
If the vehicle is not moved for a prolonged
period, quiescent current can lead to excessive
discharge of the starter battery and cause bat-
tery damage.

Charge the starter battery if the voltage
is below 12.2 V, for example by driving a
considerable distance.
#
Charge the starter battery every six
months, even if it has been disconnected
or is in standby mode.
#
Check the charge level every four weeks
if no trickle charger is being used.
#
If possible, connect a trickle charger to
the jump-start connection point.
#
Consult a quali ed specialist workshop to
disconnect the battery or if you have any
questions.
