The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) regulates the
brake pressure in critical driving situations:
R
During braking, for instance, at maximum full-
stop braking or if there is insufficient tyre trac-
tion, the wheels are prevented from locking.
R
Vehicle steerability while braking is ensured.
If ABS intervenes when braking, you will feel a
pulsing in the brake pedal. The pulsating brake
pedal can be an indication of hazardous road con-
ditions and can serve as a reminder to take extra
care while driving.
System limits
R
ABS is active from speeds of approx. 5 km/h.
R
ABS may be impaired or may not function if a
malfunction has occurred and the yellow
!
ABS warning lamp lights up continuously after
the vehicle is started.
