] and the LCD displays: HOOK TIMING.
The hook point should:
•
Have a gap between it and the needle approximately the thickness of the thread. Check
the gap by positioning a length of embroidery thread below the hook, between it and
the needle. Lift the thread slowly by both ends. It should pass through the gap between
the needle and the hook, just slightly catching between the two. The thread should form
a
V
briefly before it pulls free. If the gap needs to be adjusted, hook timing may also be
required.

Be directly behind the needle within about 1/2 the thickness of the needle as shown in
Figure 5-27. If this is not the case, the hook timing must be adjusted.
