Needle Bar

Lubricate the needle
bar at both the upper
and the lower
locations shown in
Figure 5-7. Slightly
bend the oiler tube
to make it easier to
reach the needle bar.

Place 1 or 2 drops on
the upper location.

To lubricate the lower
location, slide the
front cover of the
needle case to one
side. Place 1 to 2
drops on the needle
bar or on the felt.

Needle Bar Driver

The needle bar driver is located inside the
head casting, directly behind the needle
bar. It has a spiral groove around its shaft
(see Figure 5-8). Access it through the
take-up lever slot.

Put 3 to 5 drops onto the shaft.
