Danger:
When you open the autoclave door, steam may be expelled from the autoclave.
4.20 Disinfection ___________________________________________________________
The information provided above for sterilization also applies (with corresponding differences) to steam-
pressure disinfection.
5 Taking the autoclave out of operation/ transport / placing the autoclave
back into operation
The following steps are necessary for taking the autoclave out of operation, and for transport of the unit:
Turn off the autoclave at the power switch [15]
Pull the power plug out of its socket, and allow the autoclave to cool down.
Remove the hoses and tubes from the rear of the autoclave.
Open the tap for draining the water storage tank, and allow the water to run out of the tank.
If you wish to transport the autoclave while the tray racks and/or trays are still in the chamber, place
foam rubber, stud-type plastic sheeting, or some other suitable protective material between the
chamber and the door, to prevent the polished cap on the door from being damaged.
After the autoclave has been moved to another place of operation, or after it has been repaired, fol-
low the instructions in Section 3 ("Installation and initial startup") for placing it back in operation.
Warning: Be sure to use the original packing to prevent the autoclave from being damaged during
transport.
