4.6 Selecting the program ___________________________________________________
You can press the program selection button [18] to select the following four standard programs and test pro-
grams, indicated by illuminated LEDs:
Sterilization for wrapped instruments [24]
Sterilization for unwrapped instruments [25]
Sterilization for textiles [26]
Disinfection program [27]
Bowie & Dick Test program [28]
Vacuum test program [29]
If no program is selected, no LED is illuminated. The autoclave is then in its initial operating state.
After you have started a program, it is not possible to immediately move to another program.
4.7 Starting________________________________________________________________
The actual program sequence which you have chosen will start only when you press the start / stop button
[19]. The digital display will show the program step currently being executed, the sterilization pressure, and
the steam temperature.
You can interrupt the running program by pressing the start / stop button [19] again.
4.8 Air removal by subatmospheric pulsing_____________________________________
After the program starts, the vacuum pump will evacuate the autoclave chamber. The display will show the
progress of the fractional evacuation as follows:
Display line 1:
Sub-atm pulsing
Display line 2:
-0.2 bar 60°C
Fractional evacuation will be repeated several times. The number of steps will depend on the selected pro-
gram and the current step will be displayed.
4.9 Heat-up ________________________________________________________________
During heat-up, the Vacuklav
®
31 will be heated up to the parameters of temperature, and pressure, as re-
quired by the selected program.
Display line 1:
Warm-up
Display line 2:
1.0 bar 120°C
In line 2, the display will always show the momentary values for pressure and temperature.
4.10 Sterilization sequence __________________________________________________
After the values for pressure and temperature required for sterilization have been reached, the sterilization
time will start. The display on line 2 will show the sterilization time remaining. This display will alternative
every five seconds with the pressure and temperature display.
Display line 1:
Sterilization
Display line 2:
2.15bar 134°C
Display line 1:
Sterilization
Display line 2:
Still: 4 min, 13 s
If the values for pressure and temperature fall below the required levels, the Vacuklav
®
31 will interrupt the
sterilization time and will resume sterilization only after these values have risen to the required levels.
