Trimming a felled tree
WARNING: Watch out for branches that can spring back.
NOTE:
• Leave large branches that are supporting the tree on the ground.
• Saw off small branches with one cut.
• Branches that are under pressure should be sawn from underneath and up to prevent the
saw jamming.
1.
Check the direction of the branch first.
2.
Make a small cut in the side of the branch under pressure – this prevents the branch from
knocking back (diagram 4).
3.
Saw the branch from the side where the pressure comes from.
Trimming
Saw from underneath and up, and finish off by sawing from above and down (diagram 5).
