Chain
IMPORTANT:
• The steps described here must only be carried out when wearing work gloves to prevent personal
injury from touching the chain.
• The tension of the chain must be checked at regular intervals to ensure the safe use of the saw
and the best possible results. Tension the chain if it hangs down.
Adjusting the chain tension
18.
Place the saw on a level and stable surface.
19.
Undo the nut a little on the retaining bolt with the supplied chain tensioning tool (diagram 1).
20.
Carefully turn the chain tensioning pin clockwise until the correct tension is set.
– It should be possible to lift the chain 3-4 mm in the middle of the bar (diagram 2).
– The bar can be damaged if the chain is overtensioned.
21.
Retighten the retaining bolt after the chain tension is correctly adjusted.
Replacing the chain
1.
Place the saw on a level and stable surface.
2.
Undo the nut on the retaining bolt with the supplied chain tensioning tool (diagram 1) and
remove the chain casing.
3.
Remove the bar and chain from the saw.
4.
Release the old chain from the bar and fit the new chain in the keyway on the bar.
5.
Put the bar and chain on the saw. Push the chain round the sprocket.
6.
Refit the chain casing with the nut and tighten the nut loosely on the retaining bolt.

. Tighten the nut firmly on the
retaining bolt.
