SAFE USE
• Always take great care when handling fuel Always wipe up spillage and move
the chainsaw at least ten metres away from the fuelling point before starting
the engine
• Eliminate all sources of sparks or flame (ie smoking, open flames, or work
that can cause sparks) in the areas where fuel is mixed, poured, or stored
• Do not smoke while handling fuel or while operating the chainsaw
• Unauthorised persons must not be in the vicinity of the chainsaw when it is started
or in use Keep bystanders and pets out of the work area Unauthorised persons
should be a minimum of 10 metres away when the saw is started or in use
• Never start cutting until you have a clear work area, secure footing, and
planned retreat path from the falling tree
• Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands when the engine is running
Use a firm grip with thumb and fingers encircling the chainsaw handles
• Keep all parts of your body away from the saw chain when the engine is
running Before starting the engine, make sure the saw chain is not touching
anything
• Always carry the chainsaw with the engine stopped, the guide bar and saw
chain to the rear, and the muffler away from your body
• Always inspect the chain for worn, Ioose, or modified parts before each time of
use Never operate a chainsaw that is damaged, improperly adjusted, or is not
completely and securely assembled Ensure that the saw chain stops moving
when the throttle control trigger is released
• All chainsaw service, other than the items listed in the operating instructions,
should be performed by competent chainsaw service personnel (eg if improper
