Operation
Only take the device into operation after familiarising yourself with its functions and these
operating instructions. Check again that all connections are correct.
Make sure that the connected devices are not overloaded. Playback must never be distorted.
If distorted music signals can be heard although the volume was not set too high, switch off the
system immediately and check the connection. If the connection is correct, please contact a
specialist.
• Turn the LEVEL MAIN (2) and LEVEL SUB (3) controls down completely (left stop).
• Use the FREQ SUB (5) and FREQ SAT (7) controls to set suitable crossover frequencies for your speakers.
• Slide the switch PHASE SUB (6) to the position 0°.
• Switch on your mixer.
• Switch on the active cross-over by pressing the on-off switch POWER (1).
• Switch on the amplifier for subwoofer and satellite speakers last.
• Start audio playback on your system.
• Turn the LEVEL MAIN (2) control clockwise about to the centre.
• Adjust the volume ratio between the subwoofer and satellite speakers with the LEVEL SUB (3) control as desired.
• Use the FREQ SUB (5) and FREQ SAT (7) controls for fine-adjustment of the crossover frequencies between
the subwoofer and satellite speakers.
• Slide the switch PHASE SUB (6) to the position 180° for a test. If the subwoofer sound is fuller and cleaner in
this position, maintain this position.
• Increase or decrease the output level of the active cross-over with the LEVEL MAIN (2) control if required.
• Observe the status displays (4). If the output level is too high (CLIP LED is lit), reduce the output level.
• To switch off the active cross-over, turn the LEVEL MAIN (2) control to the left stop (minimum position). Then
switch off the amplifier first, then the active cross-over and then the mixer.
The system’s amplifier is always the last to be turned on and the first to be turned off. This will
prevent any undesired noises that may occur when switching off the active cross-over from
damaging the amplifier or loudspeakers.
