Cockpit Power
Turn cockpit power ON by pressing toggle switch on power strip inside left rear of “A”
frame cabinetry. The fans and projector should power up if they do not, check power
source to the power strip under the seats and make sure that power switch is turned ON.
Power to cockpit goes through pitch power ring on right side center of pitch
motor. Connector in center passes power to roll signal ring then to power strip inside
cockpit under the seats. Verify that power switch is on if so test, using a meter, the power
at the output from roll signal ring. If no power there back track the power wires using the
electrical schematics.
Video Problems
For projectors see the respective owner’s manuals. Presently there are two types of
projectors in use. Depending if you have HD or HD with 3-D video.
Video feed starts with the on-board computer high end video card. The card has
two outputs (HDMI), one for the projector and one for the video transmitter. If you have
external video on TV monitor you can probably assume the video card is OK. However,
settings may have changed in the software or, that output on the card is defective. Test
by switching signal source to projector or TV monitor. If either comes back on with new
source then the defect is in the card or settings, drivers etc.
Blue Screen
On projector means signal loss or fault internal to projector. If both TV and
projector have same blue screen the fault is most likely in the on-board computer. Reboot
the on-board and see if software resets. If not, you may have a faulty computer, mother
board or hard drive. Call MaxFlight for assistance.
Audio Problems
Dual Computer Systems
For dual CPU systems the sound goes direct from CPU to main power amp installed in
cockpit then to the speakers. If no sound, check power first, check volume on amp and/or
main volume setting on computer output. On units with separate On/Off, tone and
volume remote, check/verify volume is not turned down on it.
External speakers get a signal direct from main power amp to each speaker. If there is a
problem check the wiring, speaker. Try fuse on main amp, some of the units have fuses
mounted internally.
Check and insure the power transformer did not come out of the cockpit power strip.
If sound is noisy or scratchy
Usually a speaker problem, switch speakers if clear, it’s the speaker, if same it’s
either wiring or main amp problems.
If Unit does not Raise
Main power not enabled.
