5. Storing tools when not in use. If you are not
using tools they should be kept in a dry, high or
locked place, out of the reach of children.
6. Do not overload your tool. The tool will work
better and more safely if you operate it within
the specified power range.
7. Use the correct tool designed for the job you
wish to do. Do not use small tools or accessory
parts to operate at the power rating of a high
performance machine and only use them for
the purpose for which they are designed.
8. Wear suitable work clothing. Do not wear loose-
fitting clothing or jewellery. They could become
caught in the moving parts. Rubber gloves and
non-slips shoes are recommended if you are
working outdoors. Wear a hairnet to cover long
hair.
9. Wear safety goggles. You should also use a dust
mask if you intend to cut materials which will
generate dust.
10. Do not abuse the cable. Do not carry the tool
by the cable and do not pull the plug forcefully
out of the socket. Always protect the cable from
oil, heat and sharp edges.
11. Safe workpiece. Use clamping devices or a vice
to secure the workpiece. This is safer than hol-
ding it in your hand and allows you to operate
the tool with both hands.
12. Ensure that you use a suitable posture. Ensure
that you have a safe place to stand and keep
your balance at all times.
13. Handle the tool with care. Keep cutting tools
sharp and clean to ensure that they provide a
good, safe performance. Refer to the instruc-
tions relating to lubrication and for replacing
accessory parts. Check the tool cable at regular
intervals and have it repaired by a specialist
workshop if it is damaged. Check the extension
cable at regular intervals and replace it if it is
damaged. Keep the handles dry, clean and free
of oil or grease.
14. Always pull the plug when the tool is not in
use, before you start it or if you wish to fit acces-
sory parts such as blades, buts and cutters.
15. Remove setting tools and wrenches. Make
a habit of checking whether the setting tools
and wrenches have been removed before you
switch on the tool.
16. Avoid switching on the tool accidentally. Do
not carry a tool which is connected to the mains
supply with your finger on the switch. Ensure
that the switch is set to off before you connect
the tool to the mains supply.
17. Use an extension cable which is approved for
outdoor use. If you use the tool outdoors, only
use an extension cable which is approved for
outdoor use.
18. Pay close attention and take care. Take care
about what you are doing. Proceed with the
work carefully. Do not use the tool if you are
tired.
19. Checking for damaged parts. Before you use
the tool again, a damaged guard or any other
damaged part of the tool must be checked
carefully to determine whether its function is
impaired. Check the alignment of moving parts.
Free-oscillating moving parts, broken parts, the
mounting and other conditions may affect the
tool’s operation. The damaged guard or other
damaged parts must be repaired or replaced
correctly by a specialist workshop unless the
handbook states otherwise. Have a damaged
switch repaired by a specialist workshop. Do
not use the tool if the switch can no longer be
used to switch it on and off.
20. Caution! The use of accessory parts or moun-
tings which are not recommended in this ope-
rating manual may result in injuries.
21. Have your tool repaired by trained specialist
personnel. This electric tool complies with cur-
rent safety regulations. Repairs should only be
carried out by trained personnel using genuine
accessories since otherwise the tool may cause
accidents and serious injuries.
6. Special safety instructions
1. Do not remove any sawdust and splinters whilst
the machine is operating.
2. Do not use cutting discs or circular saw blades in
the machine.
3. Protect the saw blades from impacts and other
adverse effects.
4. Only use properly sharpened blades; otherwise
the increased cutting forces may destroy the
workpiece.
5. Check the saw blade for signs of damage before
use. Do not use bent, cracked or otherwise dama-
ged daw blades.
