7. Release the spindle lock and check that the
spindle is unlocked by turning it.
8. Close the base plate mounting and tighten the
four screws.
9. Ensure that the base plate mounting is securely
closed before you use the machine.
Secure the dust bag
1. Use the dust bag (13) for the dust extraction. Fit
the dust bag (13) to the extractor connection
(extractor adapter) (12).
2. Empty the dust bag at regular intervals to ensu-
re that the extraction capacity remains uniform.
Switching on and off
1. Never use the spindle lock before the machine
is working.
2. Push the ON/OFF switch Q forwards to switch
on the machine.
3. To switch off the machine press the ON/OFF
switch Q; the switch will then automatically
move into the OFF position.
4. Never use the spindle lock to brake the motor.
Mark workpieces
Before you switch on the biscuit jointer, mark the
workpiece as follows:
1. Place the two workpieces you wish to machine
on top of each other.
2. Clamp the workpieces and mark the centre of
the groove. The distance between two grooves
should be 10 – 15 cm. This does not apply to
small workpieces; these do not have to be mar-
ked.
Position the machine
The machine can be placed in different positions
to suit the workpiece size.
Large workpieces
1. Place the machine close to the workpiece. The
centre of the base plate (this position is marked
on the base plate) must be opposite the centre
of the groove in the workpiece (see workpiece
marking).
Small workpieces
1. Place the machine close to the workpiece. The
machine side must cross the workpiece side.
Cut the groove
1. Slide the motor base plate backwards.
2. Place the machine close to the workpiece.
3. Move the machine into position (see positio-
ning the machine)
4. Hold the machine in both hands and switch it
on.
5. Carefully press the motor base plate forwards as
far as possible.
6. Push the motor base plate back and switch off
the machine.
Join workpieces
When you have cut the grooves in both workpi-
eces they can be joined.
1. Apply glue to both grooves.
2. Turn the flat dowel into one workpiece.
3. Place the other workpiece on the flat dowel.
4. Tighten the workpieces and wait until the glue
has dried.
Check cutting depth
1. Always check the cutting depth after you have
fitted the saw blade.
2. Pull the plug out of the socket.
3. Slide the motor base plate (14) as far as possible
to the rear.
4. Adjust the cutting depth to the maximum set-
ting by turning the cutting depth adjustment
knob (6).
5. Slide the motor base plate forwards until the
pin engages in the groove of the cutting depth
adjustment knob (6).
6. Turn the saw blade until a tooth on the saw
blade is at the front-most position.
7. Measure the distance from the side of the base
plate to the tooth on the saw blade.
8. Check whether the distance is 19 mm. The maxi-
mum distance is 18 mm.
