Direct Station Selection:
DSS45 is a Direct Station Selection operator console. Accessing a
trunk or an extension is allowed with a direct key. There is no need
to dial long extension line numbers. The DSS45 supports 12
Extension DSS keys and 8 Trunk DSS keys. In case the main
system is configured for more than 12 extension lines/8 trunks,
‘page’ key can be used to access higher group of extensions/
trunks. Extension lines and Trunks are divided logically in two
pages. In default condition extension lines 201 to 212 and trunk 1 to
8 can be access in page1 whereas, extension lines 301 to 312 and
trunk 9 to 16 can be access in page2.

‘page’ is a lighted key. The status of this key informs the user about
currently active page.
Using ‘page’ key, the user can toggle between page one and page
two. When the user is in page one, the LED housed in ‘page’ key is
OFF. On pressing this key, the user enters page two, LED housed
in this key gets turned ON and all the extension lines and trunks
available in page two can be accessed.
The Programmable Keys
• As explained, DSS45 houses in all 45 keys. These keys are
functionally divided into four groups viz. Extension DSS keys,
Trunk DSS keys, Dialing keys and Special function keys.
Extension DSS keys:
• 12 keys are used for as many extension lines. These extension
lines can be accessed directly using these keys. These keys
also house a LED. LED gives the status of the extension line
at any point of time. If the number of extension lines exceeds
12, then PAGE key can be used to access higher group of
extension lines.
