Transfer Individual to the Transfer Chair
a.
Push down on the Open Door Button until the
door is fully opened and stops on its own.
b.
Position the comfort pad group in the
Transfer Chair as follows; two rectangular
pads parallel about three to four inches apart
centered in the individual seating area, one
rectangular pad horizontally on the seat back
at approximately the lumbar area of the
individual
c.
Push the Transfer Chair to the resident and
position for a normal wheel chair transfer.
d.
LOCK the brakes by stepping down on the
LOCK-ARM TAB located on the back of the
rear casters.
Failure to lock the caster brakes before
the resident is transferred into the
Transporter could result in injury to the
operator or resident.
e.
Transfer the patient on to the Transporter
using proper nursing transfer techniques.
f.
Position the security belt attached to the
connecting knobs on the lift chair having one
belt crossed diagonal from one shoulder to
the opposite side hip and another belt
connecting the knobs on each side of the lap.
