2) Push the under-hood release lever
sideways with your finger, as shown in
the illustration. While pushing the lever,
lift up the engine hood.
WARNING
If you need to replace the fuel cap,
use MARUTI SUZUKI genuine cap.
Use of an improper cap can result in
a malfunction of the fuel system or
emission control system. It may also
result in fuel leakage in the event of
an accident.
WARNING
• Never allow children to open or
close the hood. Children may injure
themselves because the hood is
heavy. Contact with the engine
compartment and related parts may
cause burns when this area/these
parts are hot.
• Do not allow children to be near the
vehicle when opening the hood.
• Do not leave tools, cloths, and
other objects, which were used to
clean or perform maintenance and
inspections, in the engine compart-
ment. Doing so may cause opera-
tional failures or even the vehicle to
catch fire when the engine com-
partment becomes hot.
EXAMPLE
CAUTION
The release lever can be hot enough
to burn your finger right after driving.
Touch the lever after it becomes cool
enough.
