2. EXCAVATION
The excavation for the body of the pool should be done either by a machine or manually,
so that the foot of the excavation is at least 15 cm larger than the exact size of the pool
(see the table above). The space around the pool is necessary mainly for assembly.
In the case of oval pools, the excavation must be carried out so that the cross struts
of the pool can be installed. The dimensions of the excavation must correspond to the
drawing of the relevant pool, which is shown in the Drawings section.
If the skimmer is located below the ground level, the shape of the excavation must be
adjusted accordingly to allow the installation of a mounting shaft to access the skimmer
(see figures D-1 and D-2). The mounting shaft should be about 35 x 55 cm in size so that
it can be covered with a standardized 40 x 60 cm board. Therefore, the excavation for
the shaft should be about 80 cm wide, located about 50 cm from the pool wall and deep
enough (depending on the depth of pool body that is sank in the ground). In the case of
circular pools it is up to the user where to place the shaft, in the case of oval pools it is
necessary to choose the shaft excavation from several positions exclusively in the circu-
lar part of the pool, as shown in Figure D-3.
If the shaft is to be built, it will also be necessary to excavate (across the shovel width)
between the skimmer and the position of the filtration. Drop this excavation from the
filtration to the shaft or from the shaft to the filtration so that water can be drained
from the hoses during wintering. Run the excavation perpendicularly to the pool (shaft)
to create the right conditions for the assembly and disassembly of the pool hoses.
Leave this excavation exposed so that it is possible to insert the pool hoses into the
drainage pipe before laying it on the bottom of the excavation. Do not fill the drain pipe
into the excavation!
After excavation, it is recommended to secure the excavation against the sliding of the
walls.
STAGE 2 - INSTALLATION OF THE SWIMMING POOL
Installation of the pool can be found in the Installation Instructions.

Important note:
It is necessary to check the ground water level at the construction site and whether it does not fluctuate
depending on the season. The classification of the base of the pool and its absorption capacity (pay
attention especially to clays) is also important. The ground water will also be influenced by the way of
its withdrawal from the surrounding plots depending on the subsoil during the spring snow melting or
during the rainy season.
In case of unfavourable hydrogeological conditions, take appropriate measures to drain the land
,
i.e. create a drainage from the bottom of the pool or build a sump next to the pool, where a submersible
pump with a level switch will be installed, and the water will be drained into the rainwater drain or sewer.
